Select Contiguous Cells

I know there is a keyboard shorcut to select contiguous
cells, but darned if I can remember it.

Anyone?

Perhaps you are thinking of Ctrl+Shift+8 ?

Example:
Selecting all the cells from a5 through a1000, assuming
there is something in every cell:
Start with the cell pointer in a5,
Hold down Shift, press End and DownArrow.
