selecting drawing objects

ILiya

Is there any way to select multiple drawing objects for grouping and
subsequent moving?
The problem is that the objects are very small and it is virtually
impossible to select all of them holding down the shift and using the mouse.
Is there something like a selection rectangle of something that would allow
me to select the objects? the doc was created with word 97 didn't have the
drawing canvas.

Thanks

Hi Iliya,

Assuming that the items have their text wrapping
layout option set to something other than
inline with text, there are several approaches.

You can change the Zoom setting from the
standard toolbar (or from View=>Zoom) to
show the full page and use the selection tool
(white arrow) on the Drawing toolbar to either
select multiple objects to be grouped by holding
the ctrl key while clicking on them, or you
can use that same selection tool and with the
tip of the arrow on your document draw a dotted
rectangle around the objects you want to group
to 'lasso' (select) them to be grouped using
Draw=>Group on the drawing toolbar.

You can also use Tools=>Customize=>Commands
and from the 'Drawing' category select and drag
the Select Multiple Objects tool to sit next
to the White arrow on your drawing toolbar.
Using that tool will allow you to select one
or more objects through a check box list
