Selectively accept appointments

R

Rick Young

A user receives calendar invitations from both internal and external users.
He wants to accept invitaitons from internal users but wants to put email
invitations from external users in a folder until he can look at the
invitations.
Internal users will have the same wmail server name in their email address.
Is this supported in Outlook 2007?
My fallback position is to put ALL invitation into a folder and let him
review them all.

You can use rules - See http://www.slipstick.com/emo/2007/up071129.htm#3.
For the address, apply to all and create an exception for header contains
@ - internal mail won't have headers, let alone an @ in it.

Thanks for pointing me in this direction.
I read the article, created the VB code but when I try to create a rule, I
get stopped because I haven't specified anyone for "from people or
distribution list". Also, the article says to include a condition "uses the
specified form" but there is no codition called that. There is a condition
"uses the form name form" but once again, Outlook wants me to specify a value
for the form name form.

Your instructions direct me to specify an exception to the rule, where is
that done?

please include the message you are replying to so everyone can follow the
thread.

you need to select meeting request for the form name. Because you are going
to use an exception to limit what it applies to, you'll need to use just the
form name as the condition and set an exception for addresses with @ symbols
in them.
