Send and receive Text messages to subs

J

John N

I have been using MS project for several years and would like to know how I
can send submittals or changes in the schedule to the sub contractors.

I know that the outlook Journal can track documents or communications with
particular individuals.

I interested in not only tracking the project schedule but also being able
to notify the subcontractors of changes in the schedule.

If I could generate a document that would communicate the progress of a
job, wither it was delayed or moved ahead to each of the subcontractors.

It might be in the form of a text document that I could fax to them and
have them confirm the receipt of it and commit to the schedule change. After
receiving the fax back I could use it to document the project according to
each sub.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
John Nemesh

hi,

You can manage the schedulde from MS Project Server and have the server send
automatic notifications (thorugh email) to the users registered for the
project or the project resources (and subcontractors given an appropriate
role in Project Server).

From the MS Project (desk-top) version you can use the FILE > SEND TO option
to send email notifications to the resources.

You can also fax reports. In the FILE > SEND TO or FILE > PRINT select the
Fax machine. Depending upon the fax configuration on your PC you will be
able to send reprots or views from MS project as fax.

Regards,
