I have this infamous send and recieve error, whereby
outlook (office 2k and xp using w2k and winXP) all of a
sudden prompts for username and password and will not let
me through no matter how many time we enter the password
or hit send and recieve. The users email works for weeks
on end and suddenly stops.
I have been able to bandaid the problem by deleting the
user email account and reentering it. Today out of
laziness I copied and pasted the old user name from the
user name field into the new account and found it would
not work, I recieved the same error. However when I
deleted that and typed the exact same charators as what I
could see, it worked fine.
Is something corrupting (or a hidden addition) to the user
name field that makes the pop3 server no longer recognize
the account?
