send error - nothing in outbox

I'm running Outlook 2002 on Windows XP - every time I
Send/Receive I get a send error message from one of the
accounts. I know the error is because of the anti-spam
gateway of my ISP, BUT, there is nothing in the outbox or
draft folder that it could be trying to send. Where could
this mystery message be hiding? Any help greatly
appreciated!!

It's probably a read-receipt, which doesn't sit in your Outbox (it's not
actually accessible to you).

So there's no way to get rid of it??
