Send item to group distribution list

Chas

Hello,

I want to be able to send a status report request to a
group email distribution list and have each resource in
that list receive an email notification and be able to
respond to the status report.

I have created a global distribution list. I then created
a user in the resource pool and pwa, and gave that user
the distribtion list email.

I then created a status report and added this new user to
the status report. Each resource in the distribution list
received an email about the status report, which is one
thing I am trying to accomplish. However, the status
report does not show up in their home page in PWA, it only
shows up in the new users home page.

How do I get the status report to show up in multiple
users home pages by using a group email address?

Any help / suggestions that you can provide are
appreciated.

Thanks

Chas

Have you explored the automated e-mail alerts and reminders available within
Project Server? You can automatically set up e-mail subscriptions for your
team to remind them about their upcoming and overdue Status Reports. To do
so, complete the following steps:

1. Log into PWA with project managers permission or greater
2. Click the "Alert me about my resources on tasks and status reports" link
in the sidepane on the left
3. Set your desired e-mail options in the second and third sections of the
Status Reports section of the page
4. Click the Save Changes button

Just a thought. Hope this helps.

Dale,

I know of these options. This will not solve the problem I
am having right now. I want to create a status report,
assign it to a user that has a group e-mail account. I
then want each person in that group e-mail account to
receive the status report request. If I do this, each
person in that group e-mail account gets an e-mail
informing them of the status report, but they do not have
access to it via PWA.

Thanks

You are not using the system correctly. You must create the Status Report
and specify each person who must complete the report. You cannot assign it
to a single user who represents many other users, as you are attempting to
do. Sorry.

Dale,

Thanks. We are using the status reports the right way. We
are just trying to find an easies way to send status
reports to multiple people. Some managers may be sending
status reports to many resources. These groups have
distribution lists set up for them. We were just hoping
that there would be an easier way for them to do this than
choosing each resource from the very long list (our pool
has over 600 people).

Thanks for you help.
