send mail error 0x80040201

I am getting the subject error whenever I send emails to the earthlink
server. Earthlink technical support says that I have a software problem
(Outlook).

I am able to send and receive mails normally but I continuously get this
message.

I have tried sending and receiving with virus software (PC-cillin) turned
off and the error message still occurs.

I would like to get rid of this message.
