Send/Receive Button

When I select Send/Receive, the dialog box doesn't appear, as if I never
pressed the button -- no activity. I sent myself a test message and it sent,
but never came back to me... I am not receiving any emails.

The visibility of that dialogue can be controlled. After you initiate a
Send/Receive right-click on the Send/ Receive status indicator in the lower
right corner, select Details and uncheck the box to hide the indicator. You
might need to send a file to get the option available for long enough.
Your Send/Receive problem is another issue. Any error message? Any failed
Send/receive message?
