send/receive denied

When I push send/receive i get a error message in a window saying:

You don't have approriate permission to perform this operation.

Outlook has been working fine but I didi pick up a ii22.exe and removed with
adware. I don't know if that is realted but it seems to have stopped sending
about the same time. I am able to check mail from yahoo mail but not from
outlook. I have windows XP professional
