Send/Receive Doesn't Auto Dnload Msgs When Opening Outlook

Although I have set "Schedule an automatic send/receive" for every "10
minutes," Outlook 2007 does not automatically download messages when it is
opened/started. I must manually click "Send/Receive" button to receive my
messages.

I do get an unusal message with no sender's name and no subject that is
approximately 720 B. Not sure there is a connection.
