Send/Receive Group Settings vs CIW Outlook 2003

Hi,

I'm using CIW to create a custom Outlook 2003 package that will
auto-configure the E-Mail profile when a user starts Outlook for the first
time. We're using Outlook 2003 SP2 in an Exchange 2003 environment.

I was able to customize many things, but a parameter doesn't get enabled
even if it is in CIW. I'm talking specifically about the Perform an automatic
Send/Receive when exiting When Outlook is Online option. The option is
enabled in CIW and the mst file is successfully created at the end of the
wizard. After installing the package, a user starts Outlook for the first
time, the E-Mail profile is created as expected, but the option is not
enabled...

I found out that this option is not configured in HKCU, as it should be
logically, but in a .SRS file located in %USERPROFILE%\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\.

Is anyone having this problem?

Thank you

I finally fixed the problem by opening a case at Microsoft.

There's a bug with the CIW, the workaround to have your Send/Receiv
Group Settings applied is:

In the Add/Remove Registry Entries dialog box of CIW, add the followin
data:

Key: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Setup

Type: DWORD

Value Name: ImportSRS

Value data: 0x00000001

Key: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Setup

Type: REG_BINARY

Value Name: First-Run

Value data: 0x1

Microsoft told me a KB article should be published soon for this
