Send / Receive Mail

How can I make Outlook sends and receives mail in the shortest possible
interval? I have it currently set up to check for new mail every minute.
However, emails are not getting to me for over 5 minutes? Where can I edit
this so that it checks for mail more frequently????

Thanx

Checking for mail more frequently that five to ten minutes is ill-advised.
E-mail is NOT instant messaging.

Brian,

Im not trying to use Outlook for instant messaging. Im just trying to insure
that I receive emails in a timely fashion. Whether that means in five minutes
or five seconds.

Maybe i should rephrase my questions.

How can I edit the send/receive settings for time for Outlook?

I suggest you rebuild the entire internet with more bandwidth and more
powerful routers and servers etc.

Good luck.

if outlook is set to check every 5 -10 min it will receive it as timely as
possible - if its on the server, it will download it. If its set on 1 min,
it tends to lock up and you won't get any mail until you reboot.

If you set your send/receive interval to anything less that five minutes,
you run the risk of overtaxing the server and wedging your mail or producing
send/receive errors.

Is that the same thing as a "wedgie?"
