send/receive option gone

My ability to send and receive in Outlook has suddenly gone. The
"send/receive" button is no longer on the tool bar at the top of the
screen and trying to find it in any of the various drop down menues like
"tools" or "actions" also proved futile. The only thing I can add is
that I had tried out a different e-mail program and decided against
making the switch so I had entered "yes" when asked if I wanted to make
that one (Eudora) my default program. After removing it (via the
control panel) I opened Outlook and re-established it as the default
program for e-mail, contacts etc.

I can't find anything in documentation to cover this.

Any thoughts anyone?

I thought it was a missing PST file as the only other thing I noted was
that clicking on the "to" button didn't produce my contact list. At
that point, I thought the connection/reference to the location of my pst
folder had been lost. I restored it but still it doesn't work properly
making me wonder if there's something I've missed in setting it up
again. I even re entered all of my e-mail accounts so they'd show up
under the "email accounts" in the "tools" menu. Still, there's no tab
to send/receive e-mail and nothing on any drop down menu to send or
receive e-mail.

HELP!! ;-)
