Send to mail recipient not workinking

Some of our workstations have offive XP installed with outlook 2003. When in
word xp when you try to use send to mail recipient you recieve an error
message " word could not load e-mail envelope". Network connection is good.
Is this an incompatibility issue with office xp and outlook 2003?

The versions of Word and Outlook must match in order for integrated
functions to work.
