Sending a document

I attached a Word document with columns and links (address.doc) to my
mother who has Word Perfect and Works on her new computer. When her
60 days of Office ran out, and she tries to open the document, she
can't anymore. She can't afford to spend much on Office, so I expect
I need to get to her house and uninstall it.

What is the best way for me to send her documents like this?

I'd have thought Word Perfect would be able to open a Word.doc
Depending which version of Works, there may have been Word installed with it
It might be advised to remove the Office Trial version

That may be. I am not familiar with Word Perfect and was in a hurry
to get home when I opened it and tried to open the attachment. I'll
uninstall her Office - she can't afford it - and see if my Word
attachments will open in her Word Perfect.

Even if your mother's Office trial software has expired, it
should still allow her to open/view/print Word documents, but it
won't let her create new Word documents or modify existing Word
documents.

That would be nice - if I could find a way to disable it from asking
for her key code every time it opened.

Because the software is expired, it's nagging her to enter a
valid product key or convert (purchase a key) online. She just
needs to click on Cancel to close the nag screen. Sorry, you
can't disable the nag screen.
