Sending a report to word then mailing it.

is there a way to send a report by email as a word doc. i have messed about
with the button wizard and managed to get the report to attach to an email.
the only thing is it only attached as a rtf, txt or html file. and these do
not show the report as it appears on access. how can i do it, so the
recipient can print it off sa it is on my screen.

To get the exact same report you need to export to Snapshot Format (viewer &
add-in Downloadable from microsoft)

Print the report to a PDF or a snapshot and you'll get a faithful (yet
uneditable) reproduction.

thanks for you speedy response
Is there a way to do it without downloading snap shot. the items i will be
sending will be used by the military and i am not sure if the individual
people have rights download things. would PDF work, as i know they have this.

sorry to sound dim, how would i go about doing that. I would like to attach
this procedure to a button too.

You need a PDF printer and you can use one of the free ones like CutePDF. I
prefer to use Win2PDF

although it cost me $35, I can program it and it has more features. In any
case, if you set the default printer or save the printer for that report
from your PDF printer, the report will print/save as a PDF. The same thing
happens with a snapshot format, but you may have to also send (or send a
link) to the Snapshot Reader. Since almost everyone has a PDF reader, it is
probably preferable. If you don't want to always print the report as a PDF,
just use File >>> Print to change the printer and print the report.
