sending and receiving fax

Since purchasing Office Professional Plus 2007 I am very disappointed that I
can't send/receive fax from Word document. It seem that to do this I have to
use an internet fax service. WHY when there was nothing wrong with the
previous method of doing this!?

If your computer, printer or scanner has a Fax compatibled analog telphone
modem, you do not need to use internet fax. If you have Vista, use Windows
Fax and Scan. If not, you need to use a third party Fax program or the Fax
support/applilcation provided with a Fax capable printer or scanner.

To send a fax with any version of Office now or in the past you needed to
print the document to a fax program which was probably part of the operating
system (most versions of Windows up to Vista. In Vista only the Business
and Ultimate have fax printer built in) or provided with the analog
fax/modem installed in the computer.

Since my Office 2007 can print using the fax software provided with my
Windows XP Home or Pro and also my Vista Ultimate operating systems, I have
no issue sending faxes over an analog telephone line.

What is the operating system on your computer?
