sending attachments via Send To > Mail Recipient

When using our remote access program, Citrix, we are unable to send query or
report attachments in our Access 2003 databases through File > Send To > Mail
Recipient. We get the error:

"<database name> can't send thsi e-mail message.

Before attempting to send an e-mail message from <database name>, resolve
the problem in the previous message, or configure your computer to send and
receive e-mail messages."

This happens to people connected to Citrix from the office or from home. We
do not have this problem when doing this from databases directly connected to
the server.

We have also tried install PDF writer as a workaround and get an error
saying: "An error occurred while sending this PDF file via Email."

I would be grateful for any ideas about how to solve this problem.

Hi Lavinia,

This happens to people connected to Citrix from the office or from home. We
do not have this problem when doing this from databases directly connected to
the server.

At first glance, this doesnt seem to be an MSAccess issue.
Can you send out an email from the Citrix server? Dont you have to configure
the Citrix server to send out email before you can send anything?

Hi Immanuel,

You asked me "Dont you have to configure the Citrix server to send out email
before you can send anything?"

You question prompted me to try right-clicking a word document, clicking
send to and nothing happened which means it's a problem with Outlook.

I'll post my question there. Thanks for your response.

Hi Lavinia,

I'm sure you will get more help from the Outlook newsgroup. It does sound
like a problem in the email client. It may be related to configurations such
as SMTP server, etc.

It sounds to me that you have to set up the Mail options for each Citrix
Client user just like you have to set up a normal work-station. This is
usually done via Start / Control Panel / Mail ...

I checked my book on Citrix (CCA Citrix MetaFrame XP 1.0 Administration
Study Guide) but unfortunately, nothing was mentioned about Mail / E-mail /
MAPI or Outlook.
