sending email notification to a resource when sending meeting req.

We have set up user accounts to be resources so they can be reserved. They
work great but when someone creates a meeting request and adds the resources
such as a laptop and/or projector in the actual "resources" it doesn't send
an email out to that resource but will if placed in the "optional" or
"required".
So my question is: Is there a setting in Exchange to change this option to
allow it to send an invitation request to the "resources"??

You actually have to set that up in the resource mailbox. Open
Outlook as the resource. From the Tools menu, select Options. Then
select Calendar Options. On the next dialog box, select Resource
Scheduling. Place a check mark in "Automatically Accept meeting
requests and process cancellations." You can also choose to
automatically decline conflicting meeting requests, and recurring
meetings based on your particular scenario.

Then train your users to set the resource as a resource in the
scheduling. Sometimes I forget, but when I send a meeting to include
a resource, such as a conference room, I always get a notice back IF
the resource has been scheduled. If I don't then I know I forgot to
change the resource from an required to resource.

I realize this but that is not what I want. I want a notification when they
do send to the "resources" as I have it set to forward resource requests to
me and it does work but not when they choose "resources". So I know that it
needs to be set up or someone else needs to set up a laptop for a conference
somewhere.

Have you set yourself up as a delegate to the resource? That way you
can have all meeting requests forwarded to you.

Yes I am a delegate, It works great but only when someone adds the resource
lets say IS LAPTOP to "required" or "optional" in the meeting request. if IS
LAPTOP is in the "resources" nothing is sent it only shows up in the calendar
for IS LAPTOP. But I need notification via email so I know it needs to be set
up as I dont want to check the calendar all the time.

So bottom line: Is their a way to set it to send notification like a normal
meeting notification when the resource IS LAPTOP is sent in the "resources"
and not in the "required" or "optional" when setting up the meeting request.
I am I just totally missing something here?

I'm sorry, I am at a loss because we don't setup and use our resources
that way. You may want to snoop around www.slipstick.com, if it can
be done, Sue or someone will have instructions for doing it there.
