Sending email on behalf of without an exchange server

Hello,

I have been using Window Live Hotmail for quite some time. In the options
for the webmail interface is the ability to setup exernal email accounts
which can be used as the from address to compsed emails.

I have recently now come across the Outlook Connector version 12.1 in
combination with Outlook 2007. I have tried creating test emails in where I
entered a ‘from’ address (which are external to hotmail/msn) as they appeared
on the Windows Live Hotmail website when I create a message but the message
is received with the ‘from’ address of my hotmail/msn email address.

Is there any way to configure outlook / outlook connector to originate an
email message from hotmail/msn to an external email address in which I am the
owner and have the recipient see the from address as the external email
address on behalf of the hotmail/msn email address without again an exchange
server to delegate.

Any help would be great!

The snippet from the Window Live Hotmail website when adding an external
account was as follows:

Verify that you own this e-mail address
You have set up your Windows Live Hotmail account to send messages from this
e-mail address.
By adding this address, you'll be able to write messages and send them from
this Windows Live Hotmail account:
(email address omitted)
1. To verify that you own this account and want to send messages from it,
click the link below:
(link omitted)
2. The link will take you to the sign-in page for Windows Live Hotmail. Just
sign in to the account that you want to send mail from. Once you've done
that, your mail from that account will start being sent from this address.
