Sending email problem in Outlook

Murph

Hi
I'm using Outlook and it usually works fine but this morning, there are 2
emails in my Outbox and they refuse to send. I think the reason is the
program thinks there are 4 messages in the Outbox according to the
Send/Receive dialogue box. Any idea how to remove these invisible emails that
are causing the problem?
Thanks

- Load Outlook.
- Put Outlook in offline mode (File -> Work Offline: enable).
- Exit Outlook.
- Load Outlook in its safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe"). This ensures no
plug-ins get loaded when Outlook is loaded. Reloading Outlook in offline
mode means it won't touch the stuck item. If Outlook ever touches the
item, you cannot delete it.
- Delete the stuck item in the Outbox folder.
- Put Outlook in online mode (File -> Work Offline: disable).
- Exit Outlook.
- Reload Outlook.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. The problem with this is that the 2 items the
application is trying to send are not visible in the Outbox. The Outbox
appears to be empty but when you click Send/Receive it attempts to send 2
items and if I have any other emails to send, they willl not go because they
are stuck behind the 2 invisible items it is trying to send.

Possibly undeliverable read receipts. See if this helps:

Thanks Brian, I have a friend who also suggested that. The problem here is
that the application you provide a link to does not appear to exist on the
Microsoft site any more. When you click the Download button you get a message
saying they can't process you;r request. If anyone can tell me where I can
get MDBVU32.EXE from I would be grateful.
Thanks
David

I managed to find the MDBVU32.EXE program, ran it and sure enough there were
two Read Receipts. These I have removed, so thanks for the tip. There is now
a third invisible message, however, which this program can't see in the Root
Folder. The Error Code I get on this one is 0x800CCC78.
Any ideas gratefully reecived.

Solved the second problem now by chaning the email address in my account
settings from an alias (which has worked fine for years) to the real one.
Thanks

It works for me when I click the download button.
