Sending error -3253

Hello,

After installing a purchased SSL certificate for my webmail subdomain my Entourage 2004 clients are getting the -3253 sending errors.

Emails will fail the first time with the error, sit in the outbox and then send after a few minutes. I am wondering if there is some WebDAV setting that needs to be adjusted because of the SSL certificate.

I have tried using the FQDN with SSL turned on. Prior to this there was no SSL and the clients were just connecting to the IP (not the hostname) of the Exchange server.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

After installing a purchased SSL certificate for my webmail subdomain my
Entourage 2004 clients are getting the -3253 sending errors.

From the Error Page:

Error -3253

"Communication to server failed or was dropped. Mail could not be sent.
Error -3253"

One user reported: The sent mail folder was too large. Moved 18 months of
e-mails and their attachments to a new folder and it worked like a champ.

Thanks,

I did see that but it seemed odd that it would pop up only after I installed the SSL certificate. Is there anywhere to look up the error codes with Microsoft. That answer seems very ancedotal.

Thanks!

There is no central place where Microsoft documents errors. The Error Page
<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/error/index.html> is made up by solutions we
find via searches or users report as successful. Some come directly from
developers. There really should be an official source. IMHO

If you remove your certificate, does the problem go away?
