I am using Outlook 2000 on Windows XP.

when I am trying to end a fax through Outlook, I get the following error
mesage which is unclear for me.

Microsft Outlook

A program still has file attchment wfselogo.bmp open. Changes to this
document will be lost unless you save your changes to another file by
clicking the File in other program, and then clicking Save As.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

TIA

Never seen it. This sounds like WinFax SE.
List the steps you are using to send the fax.
List your Fax software and mail support mode of Outlook.

My fax software: Symantec WinFax Starter Edition
My Computer: Toshiba Satellite 1905-S277 with internal Toshiba Software
Modem AMR

My Steps:
File/New/Fax Message
Write the text in the main box, Fax number in the "To" uing Address book
and then click "Send" icon.

Here is the Fax Status Report:
rAn error occurred while sending the Fax.
The error is : An error occurred while the document was being
converted to fax image format. Your fax cannot be sent.
Fax Subject : Âåí ÈÑÒÇÑí ÓãíäÇÑ

No wonder I've never seen this before.
WinFax SE never even worked well with the operating systems on which it was
supported. I've never tried it on Windows XP, but certainly would not expect
it to function there. None of Symantec's fax stuff works on Windows XP
without a lot of tweaks and patches, and WinFax SE has not been supported
for years.

Thanks for you info.

What is your suggestion for sending faxes from Outlook 2000 on Windows XP
platform?

Switch to corporate/Word mode so you can use Windows XP's native fax
program.

Thank for your information.

One more question
I don't understand the meaning of corporate/Word in your sentence.
If it means to send fax from inside WORD through print command, then my
problem is that my fax contains one word file and one Excel table and I want
to send them to let say 33 clients. It will be very difficult if I want to
send, first Word file for 33 cclients and then Excel file again. I think it
is better to send both at once. In in Fax SE it is possible to add file like
attachment in email.

Thanks in Advace

Very Sincerely Yours

I'm talking about Outlook 2000. It comes in two mail support modes. Only
Corp/Workgroup has full MAPI support to permit integration with Microsoft's
Fax software. For information on choosing an Outlook support version or
changing to the other support version, look here:

Dear Russ Valentine

Thanks for your invaluable information in slipstick which cleared out every
thing about three modes in Outlook. My OL is installed in "Internet Mail
Only" mode.
Now I want to know pros and cons comparing Outlook Express (OE) and Outlook
2000.
I use OE for two things:
1- Send-Receive Emails
2- Browsing Newsgroups.

I use Outlook only for:
Personal Information Management (PIM)

1- It will be great if I can integrate all these jobs into one program that
is Outlook. But is it possible to browse Newsgroups in OL? or I have to use
OE.

TIA

Newsgroups will never be incorporated into Outlook. Most users prefer to
leave that function in a separate program like OE rather than add the bloat
to Outlook. OE is fine if all you need is simple Internet Transports. If you
want more robust transports that will support things like the Outlook
Address Book, integration with Word for mail merges, and faxing, you'll need
to stick with Outlook.
You can look over a more complete comparison here:
