do you have an antivirus scanner scanning outbound email? That can slow
sending down a lot.

Uninstall your AV program and reinstall it without the mail scanning
feature.

The virus scan is done by Spyware Terminator. When I looked at the settings,
it does not indicate if it scans outgoing mail.
