Sending multiple distribution lists

Do multiple distribution list automatically filter address duplication
within the lists?

I wish to utilize multiple distribution lists that may contain some
redundancy, i.e., some addresses are contained in more than one of the
distribution lists.

No, they don't. The server might, though, depending on what it is.
