Sending Over, Over, and Over again....

Adriana

Everytime I forget to save a video to my desktop and resend but instead
forward it
to all my contacts, they get 50-60 times until I delete it from the Outbox.

Okay. Yesterday, I emailed a client a 2 Adobe files (small- one page each),
the Outbox indicates 1. I leave for several hours, I come back and there's 80
errors. Or
another example, I forwarded about 8 friends a utube video that was
previously sent to me. They each emailed me back that they got it at least
50 times in their mail box.

This morning I did a test, I emailed myself the same two Jpg docs. The
outbox indicated 1. I went to my earthlink webmail, and I had already
received it....3 times.
I went back it still indicated 1 in the outbox and I deleted it.

The very first thing you should do is uninstall your antivirus program and
reinstall it without the email scanning feature, which isn't necessary any
way and can cause exactly the problem you describe. The second thing is to
make sure your send/receive interval is no less than about ten minutes. You
should also consider increasing the server timeout value in the Advanced tab
of your account properties.

Thanks Brian,
I did the first thing you suggested (uninstall/install virus protectection
and without email protection. But Where do I find the send/receive interval
settings and where is the advanced tab? Sorry, for the bother.

What version of Outlook? Generally speaking, it can be found on Tools->Send/Receive->Send/Receive Settings. Highlight you mail account and hit Edit.

I have 2007. I went to send/receive and I clicked on Define Send/Receive
Groups, then Advanced to increase the server timeout to 3 minutes from 1:30.
But I don't see where I change interval.

Your send/receive interval should never be less than 10 minutes, more if you have multiple accounts that you check. Increase it to 10 at the least.

Press Ctrl-Alt-S while viewing the Inbox. The send/receive interval is
there.

I tried that several times, and a box pops up showing information about my
computer i.e. SN, model, etc. NO interval settings.

Then you either weren't viewing the Inbox in Outlook or you pressed
something other than Alt-Ctrl-S.
