Sending shortcuts to network files (*.lnk)

Hi,

Is there a way to send shortcut link files on an Exchange 2000 server
running Outlook XP, rather than sending the entire file?

Also when receiving an email with a *.bmp attachment, Outlook displays the
attachments as a "Picture (Device Independent Bitmap)" which I cannot open.

any ideas?
