Sending Word 2003 document

I want to send a Word 2003 document (not as an attachment, and not for
review) but when I try, the formatting changes in the e-mail the recipients
receive. Any tips?

Probably because the recipient has a different printer from you.
Why not an attachment?
If you are that worried about format, imbed a pdf file in the email...
