Sent e-mails not saving copy to sent folder

Hi, At my job we use windows 2000 sp4, office 2000 with exchange and I have a
user who when he sends e-mail a copy of the e-mail is not saved to his sent
folder. I checked options, e-mail options and the box save copies of
messages in sent items folder is checked. I also went to his rule wizard and
there was nothing there make me think it would do anything funky with those
messages. I check his outbox folder, deleted items folder and his Inbox but
the message where no where. Any ideas where they might have gone to or where
else I check?
