Sent Email in Outlook 2007 disappears after a day

I am desperate! My email stays in Outlook Sent items for one day then
disappears. I have an archive scheduled for every 4 months.

Any clues much appreciated!

Which view settings? I go to View and there is NOTHING in my sent
items folder. I am looking to view by date but when I alter that there
is still nothing there?

Choose the "Sent To" view and reset the view to its defaults.
