Sent email rules advice

I've created rules that moves a copy of a Sent message to the folder I chose,
but that message copy appears as "unread". Any ideas how to mark it as
"read"? I just need to keep certain copies of my "sent" mail in a personal
folder, I'm just getting tired of highlighting the "unread" bold messages and
marking them as read.
