"Sent Items" Chokes and Stalls on Large File

I'm working with Outlook Express 6.0 and all works (worked) fine until
the other day I tried to send a file with a large program file.
Now, when I hit "Send/Receive" this file "locks" the system up for hours
trying to "load" the attachment file before sending.
Is there any way to delete or kill this attachment??

I am having a similar problme with Outlook 2000. I can not send or recieve. I
am almost in a panic as I rely on my email for work purposes in a home based
business. I have tried deleting the email but it just hangs my whole system.
Any suggestions??

I have been working on this problem for the last four hours and finally got
my Outlook working again. I don't know if you are on a network or stand
alone, but I will share what I think finally worked as I tried many things..
I am on a stand alone. I disconnected my cable modem hoping that it would
prevent Outlook from trying to send. When that didn't help, then I found the
mailbox.pab and my outlook.pst files - yours may be named differently, but
essentially you are looking for the pab and pst files. I re-named to
"oldmailbox.pst" and oldoutlook.pst.

Then, when I started Outlook again, it wanted to create a new profile which
I did, but saved it either in a new location or with a new name. Once I had
Outlook open, I then went to File, Import and imported my "old" .pst file.
For some strange reason, it then allowed me to delete the file from the
Outbox. I closed Outlook, renamed my "olD" files back to what they were
before and everything seems to be working very well!!!

A long drawn out process, but the what I just told you didn't take the whole
four hours - it just took me four hours to figure out to try that.

Hope it works for you!
