Sent Items Delection

Using IMAP mailbox. Deletion of sent items cleared them on mail server but left some items in Entourage folder SENT ITEMS. Cannot get rid of them in Entourage? Use of web browser email confirms they are NOT on mail server. Rebuild of Entourage database does not clear problem. Any thoughts?
