sent items missing from inbox

When I reply to an item in my inbox, it disappears from
the inbox. I can retrieve it from my sent items, but it
no longer exists in the inbox. This is a new
development. Any thoughts?

Check your view settings - sounds like you're set to view only unread mail.

Check your views on the inbox to ensure it is not set to Unread Items.
(HINT - Best to enable the advanced toolbar which will show your views by
default - right click on toolbar, select Advanced.)

Milly, no, the replied to meessages are not going to
Unread Items. They just vanish from my Inbox (although I
can pick them up by looking in my Sent Items. Any other
thoughts?

them, they're gone. Help!!

With Outlook 2002/2003, it's View>Arrange By>Current View>Messages. You
didn't state your Outlook version.

That's not what she's asking - it's your view settings on the inbox she's
asking about.

Also, do you have any rules defined that might be doing something strange?
