sent items missing from sent folder

Recently my sent items have stopped appearing in my sent
folder. I recently installed a microsoft office xp patch
and am guessing that since this problem started happening
about the same time that I installed the patch that it
might have something to do with it. Yes, I have the "save
sent items in sent folder" box checked. Does anybody have
any idea how to fix this problem? Thanks alot.
