sent items staying in the outbox

I am using Outlook 2000-SP3 and it has just developed a problem. Items move
to the outbox and are sent OK but rather than moving on then to the sent
items, they remain in the outbox with a note in the sent column of "none".
I have tried reinstalling office but that doesn't fix the problem either.
Can anyone help?

Did you get this fixed?
We are having the same issue.
The email gets to the destination but returns to the Outbox now at the top
of the list.

I am having the same, problem. I checked for viruses and bugs, but there was
not any.
