Sent Messages are not saved in the sent folder using outlook expre

Using Outlook Express, sent messages are not saved in the sent folder.
However, I have verified that the option is checked when I go to tools,
options, and send tab; (Save copy of sent messages in the sent item folder).

It used to save my sent messages in the sent folder but something has
occurred with in the application. Please comment ASAP.

Disable sent items, apply and re-enable it. If that fails to fix it, for
