Hi,
I'll be really grateful if someone here can help with this problem, it's a
poser. I posted it in the general questions group for two weeks. I got one
question about it, but no help. I'm hoping that, as a group for programmers,
this group will have people with more experience.
I'm using Outlook 2003 SP1 on Win XP Pro on a recent model Dell Notebook. I
run the SpamBayes spam filter load-in. I don't have any odd or complex rules
in the Rules section.
Generally, Outlook runs fine, but one odd problem keeps happening. I have
Outlook's email options set to keep a copy of outgoing messages in the Sent
Folder. This typically works OK, but intermittently, the sent message just
disappears and never arrives in my Sent Folder. This makes me crazy, because
I keep sent messages as milestones for projects, records of conversations
with clients, etc. There doesn't seem to be any pattern regarding new
messages vs. forwards or replies.
I know the message is delivered to the addressee(s) because I check when
this happens, but there is no record of it in Outlook. I've searched for the
missing message in various ways, including text searches and using the
Activities tab on the addressee's Contact record if there is one. No results.
The message just vanishes.
In the past few weeks, I've scoured Outlook's Help and Online resources, run
Detect & Repair, and re-installed the program with no result. The
intermittent loss of messages continues. HELP!
