Separate emails in Outlook 2000?

CYHH

I would like to use Outlook 2000 to retrieve several different email accounts
but I want them separated so my husband can look at his emails without having
to search through mine. Is there a way to seperate the mail so we only see
our own emails?

Yes, but the method would depend on which of 2 completely different versions
of Outlook 2000 you are using:
Internet Mail Only or
Corporate/Workgroup

Thanks Russ,
I'm not sure but lets say I'm using internet mail only can it be done and if
so how?

Not readily because IMO provides no method to create or repair profiles.

Try going into your registry at this point:
(Win 9x/ME) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Messaging
Subsystem\Profiles\<your profile name>
(Win NT/2000/XP) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\<your profile name>
Look in the tree under that point (it should be full of keys with long
hexidecimal value names) and look for a section that references the PST file
you want off of your folder tree. Export that section (for safety) and then
delete it.

If your registry only contains one entry for a PST file, then we'll have to
use another hack to recreate your Outlook profile.

Ok I have obviously gotten in over my head because the information you've
given me may as well have been written in japanese, but being of a persistant
nature I'll try again. How would I go about seperating the addresses if I
have the Corporate/Workgroup version?

In Corporate or Workgroup mode you may be able to delete the duplicate by
editing the mail profile (Control Panel|Mail). If you have two entries for
the Personal Folder services you can just remove one.
