Separating items on the same page.

I have a Word document in which I want to use borders (not tables) to separate
graphs, text and tables on the same page. I found that using a table to do
this caused formatting issues when copying and pasting my graphs and tables
in the two separate sides.

I have tried everything I can
think of but cannot get this to work. Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm not certain I understand exactly what you're after, nor why using tables
didn't work (what are "two separate sides"?). You're description is rather
vague... It would also help to know which version of Word you have.

I apologize for being so vague. I am using MS Word 2002 and have a
presentation document in which I need to incorporate 2 separate graphs,
bodies of text and tables onto a single page throughout a document that is
ranges from 23 pages to 46 pages in length.

In producing this document in this format for the first time, I used a table
to separate the two graphs (text, other tables, etc). The problem came when
formatting these items within that larger table. Things moved choppily or
not at all where you needed for them to be. Thusly I am looking for a way to
achieve this same effect, without having to use the larger table in order to
simplify the other formatting.

I thank you in advance for sharing any ideas or suggestions that you may have.

Sorry I didn't reply any sooner; been busy, and I've been waiting to see if you
reply to Suzanne's suggestion...

"Things moved choppily". When you put things in a table, you don't usually move
them; you move the table cell boundaries. Is this what you mean? Try holding
down ALT when dragging the cell boundaries, which will let you move things to
the position you prefer (rather than holding you to the ruler's tab stops).

I am unlikely to be much help, I am new to these discussions, but I have
also had this problem in the past. My suggestion is to use excel for any
tables. The tables should remain the same when moved to word.
