Seq Field with \* ARABIC show numbers in English Digits?!

I have inserted a Seq Field with \* ARABIC and its show numbers like this:
Ùˆ 1Ùˆ 2Ùˆ 3Ùˆ ,
But when I close the Document and reopen it (or after a Select All and
pressing F9) numbers change to this:
1, 2, 3, (english digits instead of arabic)

What should i do to see digits in arabic not english?

Another question is after inserting this field it automatically adds \*
MERGEFORMAT !!!!!
What is \*MERGEFORMAT??? why its added automatically and what it does?

The \* Arabic switch in Word caused "English" numbers (1, 2, 3, etc.) to be
displayed as distinct from Roman numbers (i, ii, iii or I, II, III)that
result from th use of the \* roman and \* ROMAN switches respectively.

I believe that you would have to use an Arabic font to get the numbers ot be
displayed in "Arabic" format.

I have many arabic fonts installed! and the Seq field is inserted in an
arabic paragraph style! so i guess the Seq field should follow that style!!!

should i use any especial switch in Seq Field to force to use arabic?

I would suggest that you try without a switch, or you might try adding a \*
charformat switch and apply the desired font to the first letter of the
field, that is the S of SEQ for example.

Unfortunately, I do not have access to any of the fonts, so cannot try the
above, but using the \* Arabic switch is probably not the thing to do as
that probably forces the use of "English" numbers.
