Sequential Numbering of Documents

Hi

I print documents such as invoices and receipts etc. and sequentially number
them using mail merge and an Excel file.

I would like to print the documents two up on a page (eg. 2 x A5 on an A4)
but cannot work out how to number each one differently.

Can anyone help?
