serious magic ovation software and office 2007

I cannot import a ppt file into ovation or serious magic ovation software.
Even though I change the pptx extension to a ppt none of the slideshow
imports correctly. I have only one slide repeated. Can anyone suggest what
fix there might be to this problem?

How did you change the extension from PPTX to PPT?

Have you checked with Adobe? I think they sell Ovation now.
