Here's one for you- I'm completely stumped. I don't know
how to fix it.
I've got a laptop that is running XP, Office 2003 for
students and teachers, Norton Internet Security, and I
recently downloaded a free trial of Inspiration software.
When I ran Inspiration and tried to import to a word file,
an option it claims to be able to do, my problems began.
Whenever I click on a Word document, word boots up and
gets hung up and says "scanning for virus." It doesn't
freeze (the background is blinking). I cannot quit word
once this happens and ultimately end up having to manually
shut down (hit the power button). I can open word, then
open a document. I simply cannot open a word document
directly.
What have I done to solve it?
I originally uninstalled Norton. Then it worked. I tried
to reinstall Norton- it didn't work.
I uninstalled Word 2003. I reinstalled it. It still
didn't work.
I uninstalled Inspiration. It still didn't work.
Finally, I reinstalled Windows. It worked until I
reloaded the updates. Now it doesn't work again.
Help!
