Server 2003: Timesheets and Daily Entry

Gang,

I had Server 2003 configured for "Actual work done and work remaining:
Resources report the actual work done and the work remaining to be done on
each task.", but then realized I needed "Hours of work done per day..." so
that team members could entere on the right side by day.

I changed the settings in server, republished the plan through Project Pro,
but still can't enter time daily.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Am I supposed to be publishing something
through server?

You need to open and republish each project using Collaborate - Publish -
Republish Assignments, not Collaborate - Publish - New and Changed
Assignments. Changing the tracking method will only impact UNSTARTED tasks
as well. In progress tasks must continue to be tracked using the old method
of tracking. Hope this helps.

Dale,
Thanks for the quick response. I did all that. I can log-in as one of my
users and the daily buckets are editable, but can log-in as myself and any
one of several other resources and the daily buckets are disabled.

The ones that have the daily buckets disabled have not started. Hmmm.
Does the type of the task make a difference? (fixed duration vs. fixed work,
etc.)

When you click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments, check the pick
list at the top of the dialog and make sure that you are republishing all
tasks and not selected tasks. Other than that, this procedure should work.
Task Type is no factor in whether the tasks are unlocked in the PWA
timesheet. Let us know what you find.

Thanks Dale. Turns out our Server was running out of diskspace, so that might
explain the weird behavior. Once they added more space, I republished all and
now the "buckets" are as expected.
