Server authorizations, project publishing

M

Matt Hamm

The user who has admin rights, has told me that I also
have admin rights. However, when I try to publish a
project to the server, I am receiving permission errors.
Additionally, after logging onto the server via PWA, I do
not see the Administration overview from the Admin tab.
This is using project professional 2003 and server 2003
Any clues would be great. Thanks

Matt --

It sounds like you have a couple of problems. The obvious problem is that
you do NOT have administrator rights, contrary to what you have been told.
If you had those rights, you would see an Admin menu in PWA.

Your other problem is with publishing a project. Specifically, what
permissions errors are you seeing in Microsoft Project Professional? Let us
know.

Matt:

In addition to Dale's sage advice consider also that because permissions are
cumulative, it's possible that the administrator added you to the
administrators group, but forgot to remove you from another group that
denies the permissions that the administrator thought you'd be getting.

Thanks for the reply. I have solved the permissions issue
with the administrator.
Dale I have sent you, via e-mail, the errors I am seeing.
I am on a different domain than the server, and don't have
permissions on that domain. This is the next issue we are
trying to resolve.
