We are a Exchange 2000 site, running Outlook XP client.
Some users can invoke a rule that enables server based replies. Many others
can not - getting the ubiquitous and utterly useless error message "you don't
have appropriate permission to perform this operation".
The only KBA I can find is 316536 which says "Exchange Server cannot perform
the "Have server reply with specific message" Inbox rule if you change the
mailbox that is indicated in the From box" and then offers two dodgy
"workarounds" - ie have a client based rule or acquire third party software.
If the rule breaks because the "From" field is changed, then how do you
"unchange" this field??
