hi!i have one question...all help is really need..

I have place about 10 database (backend) in my server (Win 2000 server) -
because there a 10 systems, and place their frontend in user's pc.There are
about 10 users that will acess the server in one time through LAN...and one
user not only use one system..then all user's pc will mapping to the server...

My problem is, sometime the mapping drive is disable...then user needs to
restart the pc..but this only happen to WinXP user not VISTA.

Any idea? Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi Emma,

I've never experienced the issue you are reporting, but why even used mapped
drives at all? I recommend using UNC (Uniform Naming Convention) paths. For
example, if you have the "P:" drive mapped as \\Server\ShareName, and your
usual linked path was something like this:

P:\Data\MyFile.mdb

then the equivalent UNC path would be:

\\Server\ShareName\Data\MyFile.mdb

And, at this point, you wouldn't care how any particular user chooses to map
or re-map, or even disconnect their "P:\" drive.
