Server Delete w/ POP3

Hi,
I have a rule in Outlook (on my mail profile) to delete items from the
server after 3 days. So, I get items in my Outlook inbox, and expect them to
be removed from the server after 3 days. Outlook never deletes them - Is
there a bug with Outlook that stops this function or am I missing something ?
I do this so I can see my email via the web if I'm not at my pc.
Thanks,
Craig

Maybe I'm confused, but I don't think you can do this with a rule, unless
you're using Exchange? You can specify this in your POP account properties,
though.

What version of Outlook do you have? Have you run Outlook and done a
send/receive after the 3 day period? There's no way to tell the server to
delete the message other than having Outlook run and do it...

Sorry - I do have this set up in my POP Account properties and not as a
'rule'...

I'm running Outlook 2003/XP Pro - My Outlook stays open on my home pc 24/7
and checks for new email (send/receive) every 5 minutes... It's connected
via a cable modem so Outlook should be notifying the remote server (mail
store) to delete the items after X days... That's what is driving me nuts, I
can't get it to do what is configured -- I was hoping someone would notify me
that there was a bug or some type of workaround as I've tried everything I
can think of and now just want to find an answer...
